Tests Prove Wipes Kill Four Additional Microorganisms
PDI®, the Healthcare Division of Nice-Pak Products, Inc., recently received EPA acceptance to reduce the overall contact time on its Super Sani-Cloth® Germicidal Disposable Wipe from five to two minutes. In addition to killing 18 microorganisms including MRSA (Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus) and Salmonella, the wipes now kill Rotavirus, Human Coronavirus, ESBL-producing E. coli and Burkholderia cepacia.
“Super Sani-Cloth wipes save healthcare workers precious time by disinfecting and deodorizing all in one product,” says Jean Fleming, R.N., MPM, CIC – Clinical Director of Infection Prevention and Education at PDI. The latex-free wipes have a diamond-embossed texture, making them thick, heavy and strong enough to remove bacteria from surfaces without tearing. “The pre-moistened, quaternary/alcohol-based wipes are suitable for a variety of hard, non-porous surfaces,” continues Fleming, “including carts, counters, exam tables, computer keyboards, patient monitoring and sensitive diagnostic equipment.”
Super Sani-Cloth contains 55% alcohol and kills TB and RSV in one minute; HBV, HCV, HIV-1, MRSA and VRE in two minutes and has been tested effective against a total of 22 microorganisms.1 Available in large (6 in. x 6.75 in.) and extra large (8 in. x 14 in.) wipe sizes, Super Sani-Cloth comes in 160-count and 65-count canisters with deep-well lids. The large 50-count packets and extra-large individual packets conveniently fit into the Sani-Bracket®, a special wall and mobile equipment mounting system. Super Sani-Cloth is part of the Sani-Surface® family.
For 30 years, PDI has pioneered the development, testing, manufacturing and marketing of pre-moistened wipes as the optimal system for infection prevention and control. With trusted brands including Sani-Hands® for Kids, Sani-Dex® ALC, Hygea® and Chlorascrub™, PDI serves the healthcare market through hospitals, physician and dental offices, emergency medical services, long-term care, schools and a variety of other healthcare facilities.
